Who we are
Ali Carter is The Pub Mentor and creator of the revolutionary food costing system, CaterCost.
She has been described as a ‘phenomenon’, ‘one to watch’ and ‘Herculean’ in her mission to raise the bar in licensed retail standards. A former hospitality owner for 14 years, she knows the secrets of success, turning underperforming businesses into multi-award-winning outlets and winning the industry’s coveted accolade ‘Licensee of the Year’.
Orignally trained as a teacher, with a background in field sales where she won every incentive going, she was seduced in 1993 by the chocolate box appeal of a country inn and took on the lease! Learning the hard way, she nearly went bust a short way into the venture but with a changed mindset, a gear change and effective training, she thrived and expanded the business with another pub/restuarant and 30-barrel micro-brewery, gaining yet more accolades.
In 2004 she sold the lot for a Cornish dream pub overlooking the surfing beach, revolutionising its fortunes through innovation and vision.
In 2007 she set up Business Vision traning and consultancy business, specialising in licensed retail. She has subsequently become a leading light in hospitality, an in-demand speaker at national conferences, columnist for trade press and a trainer/consultant to PubCos and Breweries throughout the UK.
Ali is driving results through innovation, practical and vibrant training:
